A beautiful pair of Louis XVI chaise a dossier plat by Martin-Nicolas Delaporte

With the frames in excellent condition, the chairs would make a wonderful addition to any dining room or entrance hall
Martin-Nicolas Delaporte took over his uncle Martin Delaporte’s studio on the rue des Filles Dieu after his death in 1756 and produced fine and beautifully worked chairs for the next 28 years until his death in 1784. During this time he used the same stamp as his uncle ‘M DELAPORTE’

His chairs are found in a number of notable collections and two large sofas and six Louis XVI giltwood fauteuils were housed in the Beistegui collection at the Château de Groussay before being dispersed in 1999

France, Circa 1780s
